Our mission is to stop destructive transmission line projects that threaten to take our property, harm our environment, and divide our communities. VOLT fights for fair, responsible energy solutions that keep West Virginians in control of their future and preserve the place we proudly call home.

We see strong, united communities where neighbors look out for each other, where families can stay on the land they love, and where progress doesn't come at the cost of our homes and our hills. Our Story
VOLT is a nonprofit organization committed to protecting the people of Jefferson County in West Virginia. We stand together in opposition to the construction of high‑voltage transmission lines that would disrupt our communities while primarily serving the needs of datacenters in Virginia. Our work focuses on exposing the limited benefits these projects offer to West Virginians and on safeguarding our environment, landscapes, and local resources.
